    Democrats as well.

My memory is that Hillary is carting very high negatives for example.

I'd be interested to see what the broader electorate thinks of Gore, Obama, Edwards, etc.

But you are right, it's the worst ecosystem for the Republic Party since Nixon.  Although the 76 election was, to quote Wellington after Waterloo, "a damn close run thing."

    •  While Sen. Clinton's negatives are already up, (0+ / 0-)

those of her rivals for the nomination may start rising themselves in the months ahead.  Those who can't stand Hillary Clinton already know that... there can't be much out there left to uncover about her.  On the other hand, should Barack Obama be linked with some of the jokes for office-holders we have here in the Chicago area or be connected with any of the ongoing investigations going around here (please remember that the property adjacent to Obama's home was bought by a man now under federal indictment, under circumstances that are at best a mite unsettling).

      •  Senator Obama unlike others told the truth (0+ / 0-)

about the purchase of that land, sir.

Senator Obama is the "cleanest" of all the Presidential candidates running.  Also, he is gaining converts every step of the way with his truth-telling.
