  •  Thanks, Connecticut general election voters! (0+ / 0-)

I want this shithead out of office.  He should immediately be stripped of his committee assignments as soon as we win an additional seat.

    •  Hey, we tried (5+ / 0-)

Please don't blame all of us.  :-)  I've never worked harder for any candidate, even when I was a die-hard Dean supporter in '03.

It didn't help to have Joey's Democratic buddies in the Senate say publicly that he'd keep his committee assignments even though he was running against the Democratic nominee in the general.  It didn't help to have some Democratic leaders around the state continue to support him even after he lost the primary.  It didn't help to have Bill Clinton say on Larry King Live that it didn't matter whether we elected Ned Lamont or Joe Lieberman since both were Democrats.

Of course, it isn't much comfort now to imagine that those assholes are regretting abetting Lieberman.  I wonder whether they are, though.

aka "Maura in CT", since I'm back now in the Nutmeg State, where I grew up...

would have never been able to forgive myself now had I not done anything for Ned.

      •  All very true. (0+ / 0-)

I, also, critcize Ct. voters for putting him back but you make a good many points, here.  Dem's didn't help Lamont much (if at all).  I believe Sean is referring to the voting block, as opposed to every person in Ct., as I do when making such a generalized statement.  But, I could be wrong.

      •  I know a lot of good people tried very hard (0+ / 0-)

But the simple cold truth is the average voters were too goddamned stupid to vote for the right man, even in the face of overwhelming evidence that Joe wasn't it.  They sat there and ate his shit, hook, line, and sinker, and now the entire country has to pay for their ignorance.

It should not have mattered how many people came to Joe's aid or how many failed to come to Lamont's, the fact that Joe's record was still insufficient for them to oust him on that alone is in my opinion a stark indictment of their own idiocy.  Why the hell do voters so consistently refuse to educate themselves?  How freaking hard can it be for them to go to the polls knowing a little bit about who they're actually voting for?

That is the one thing that I really hate about American politics - we are so often condemned to be ruled by our inferiors.  My mom's dogs could do a better job picking politicians than half the voters in this country and I am forced to suffer because of them.

Yeah, I'm bitter.  I want my motherfuckng country back!!
