that her war vote was politically motivated?

Everything else is bullshit. She is lying, conniving, posing, and telling half-truths to get the brass ring. This includes her war vote, which was already a done deal when she turned in her "aye".

If so, I agree, but, for me, life-and-death decisions involving the fates of tens of thousands of people and the stability of the world cannot be excused as "sophistication" designed to deliver me socialized health care.  We need statesmanship in this country; war-by-poll-results is the opposite of statesmanship.

Congress doesn't have to do anything. It can just sit back and fail to enact the...spending measures required to keep the war going. - Lynn Chu and John Yoo

    •  Analysing Hillary's Vote on the AUMF (12+ / 0-)

Opposing an unpopular war is easy.

Resisting a popular war, in a climate of induced hysteria, is quite hard and courageous – regardless of the demonstrable folly of that war.

Her actions speak volumes about her judgment and character.

If she believed the decider would be prudent with his blank check, then she is hopelessly naïve. If she bought the lies about WMD, then she lacks discernment and critical thinking. If she knew the war was wrong and supported it anyway because of political pressure, she has no backbone. If she voted for the AUMF to position herself as a national security "hawk," then she’s playing a cynical game with American and Iraqi blood. And if she can’t acknowledge her mistakes, she’s demonstrating Bushian arrogance and certitude. No matter how you slice it, it was a terrible vote.

      Thanks, but no thanks.

      Think radically, act practically.

I agree as to the lack of statemanship but she's trying to get elected President.  Very cynical I know, but I have a very cynical view of the general electorate after 2004.
