  •  decision decisions.... (22+ / 0-)

There are going to be what....8-12 democrats running?  By this time next month, none of them will be acceptable.

I already purchased my, "Don't blame me.  I voted for Feingold even thought he didn't run." bumper sticker.

I'm pretty sure at this point that I will be doing write-ins for Al Gore on every ballot that crosses my path, even if he's not running.  But, please, please, Al, RUN!!!

      •  Al would be nuts to declare right now. (5+ / 0-)

He gets into the race now, and he's the instant frontrunner.  Hillary and Obama will stop slinging mud at each other and both will go after him.

I'm still holding on to hope that he will get into the race -- at the right time.  And I don't think this is the right time, yet.

By the way, if you're a Gore supporter reading this, click on the link in my sig and give a few bucks.  'k thx bye

Money talks, so speak up -- Draft Al Gore

        •  I'd say he'll announce around November. (0+ / 0-)

He has all the time in the world. We simply wait. If he doesn't run we have two good choices, maybe three.

        •  I'm Hoping Gore Gets In, Also (0+ / 0-)

But he needs to straighten out the folks at Act For Change.  This e-mail was sent out yesterday by them:

Do It for Al -- Donate to Carbonfund.org Today!

          Best Documentary?

          An Inconvenient Truth

Help Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth win an Oscar this weekend -- by offsetting carbon today.

learn more about carbon offsets through carbon fund.

The Oscars are this Sunday, and Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth is nominated for Best Documentary. If it wins, that means its message will get a whole new round of publicity and probably a new theatrical release -- allowing the movie to change millions more minds.

We have an idea for how to increase Gore's chances of winning. Hollywood studios often spend millions to influence the Academy's decision. We can't do that, but we can show how deeply the film impacted our own behavior by taking a practical step to offset CO2 emissions in the name of An Inconvenient Truth before the Oscars.

Offset two tons of carbon dioxide emissions for just $11 with the non-profit Carbonfund.org -- that's 4,049 pounds of CO2 that won't warm the planet.

Do it for Al — offset today!

If at least 1,000 people participate in this campaign, that's a big enough number to get the attention of entertainment journalists and get the story to the Academy. This is news: there has never been a grassroots campaign like this behind an Oscar nominee.

Do you remember how dramatically Al Gore's film An Inconvenient Truth changed the country's mind about global warming and CO2 emissions? Maybe it changed your mind too, or changed how seriously you took the problem. It did for us. And now the Oscars could give us another bite at the apple.

An unbelievable one billion people watch the Oscars around the world. Help give Al Gore the biggest platform he's ever had to alert the world about the danger of CO2 emissions and global warming.

Buy a carbon offset today for Al!

Please share this message with everyone you know who is concerned about the future of our planet.

Thank you for working to build a better world.

The fact is, balloting for the Oscars is long since over.  This e-mail was misleading and opportunistic.  I hope Gore had nothing to do with it.

Hottest ticket in the city this year was Al Gore. Front page of in all 4 Toronto dailies.

He's in no rush at all to jump into the swamp.

          Gore is controlling the clock.

          •  Bingo (0+ / 0-)

"Controlling the clock" is dead solid perfect.

And the more Clinton and Obama snipe at each other, the easier it will be for Al to look like the adult coming into the room to straighten up the mess and save the Dems from themselves.  Hey, he's already saving the planet, why not his party, too?
