If Obama is going to "change the tone in DC", as kos says, all that bullshit, then he is being a hypocrite by hiring Gibbs and using his tactics.

... that this behaviour is hypocritical.

Where we disagree, if we do, is that I think this kind of hypocritical behaviour is necessary for any candidate that wishes to win.  Until the system changes and/or the stakes aren't quite so high, I think I'm going to start supporting the assholes that know how to win.  I want to have a Democratic nominee that will do whatever it takes to win.

A conscientious man would be cautious how he dealt in blood.

Where do you make the leap of "using his tactics?"

Just because he hired the guy doesn't mean Obama's going to be using the same tactics.

Besides, this guy is a spokesperson. He's not in Strategy. He's not in Media. He's not the campaign chair. He's one voice in a chorus of campaign staff.

You shouldn't jump to conclusions. If Obama runs a Gibbs-esque add, well, you'll be correct. But unless you're far better than I am at predicting the future, maybe you should just sit silently and watch?
