"brought New Yorkers together."  And if he can do that, the "logic" goes, he can heal the country.  Bleach!

First, the first point is totally wrong for so many reasons.  Second, huh?

I've actually seen this comment in letters to the editor in various swing states.

Bush has united the world. The bad news is that he's united it against the USA.

what any one who was sitting mayor would have done.  That doesn't make him a hero. It makes him someone doing his job.

commercial with Guiliani grandstanding, and show a few headlines about "Rudy" bringing NYC together, and then have a couple of people who are dying of cancer from the exposure to the stuff in the air after 9/11 that was covered up, and the widow of a firefighter who can explain why they weren't warned to get out of the building before it came down.. they knew, they just didn't pass the word along...why?? because Guiliani had not implemented recommended communication coordination. You could use 9/11 against him in so many ways it isn't even funny. And add on to that the way he kissed off his second wife, via press conference, after moving his mistress into the mayoral mansion, Gracie Mansion, is it? That will not sit well not only with the conservative Repug base, but it will gag even the most liberal of his supporters. Why?? because it's tacky as hell. The sort of thing that "simply isn't done". Not even by "Rudy". He won't be able to raise campaign funds for that very reason. No one wants to be seen as condoning, never mind approving and supporting, that sort of behavior. Has nothing to do with morality, it has to do with very bad taste. Which Guiliani seems to have an abundance of.

        •  I don't disagree (0+ / 0-)

about the morality thing.  Never been my cup of tea though when it comes to legislators.  I prefer issues.

As far as the environmental issues, I am not scientist or medical professionals, but when you go to work, if your throat hurts just because you are there, there is something wrong.  That is just common sense.
