        I notice that the sky is brown, though.  Being from Los Angeles, I'm used to that, but I do have to ask: is there something unusual with the color processing here?  On the blog, you mention that this is actually what it looks like, not photofoolery, right?

        My apologies to students who took my U.S. Government class in the 90s: evidently the Constitution doesn't limit Presidential power after all. Who knew?

          but i did a basic heightening of the contrast on a few of them. it is an industrial town, so with the lights around the town centre and the lumiere, it may have had some effect on the backgrounds.

            (as if anyone is still reading a pretty dead diary), check out this page, which contains links to Monet's series of paintings of the Rouen cathedral, done to represent the cathedral at different times of day.  He captured a similar difference in the play of light on the cathedral as you see in these photos.  Just lovely.
