    Otherwise, we push Bush and his ilk outside of their own party (as they are trying to do).

    It's not Bush that's the problem, it's conservative policies.  It's not crazy radicals who support pardon, it's conservatives.

    Do to conserative what they did to liberal.

      I'm not saying we should pussy out on them. But being intellectually precise is something the Dems could use a little practice at.

      Also, I agree that the problem is the wider movement, but as I said the nature of the movement has nothing to do with "conserving" anything. If you are trying to win over people with some brains on the Republican side, a la Scowcroft or Lugar or Danforth, you aren't going to "fool" them by calling the entire movement "conservative." They understand as well as anyone that Bush/Cheney/Rove are completely half-cocked.
