    as "safe" is not a new thing, unfortunately.

    Corporate and industry groups are desperately trying make low level radiation 'safe' for both of these reasons. They are twisting and distorting science like I have never seen before.

    This reminded me of radium toothpaste that was sold at the turn of the 20th century. There were literally dozens of health cures that used uranium and radium. Then there's the grisly story of US Radium, a defense contractor that had a watch-dial factory back in the 20s that resulted in numerous cancer fatalities in the women employed there. (The "Radium Girls" had no knowledge of the dangers, and even though the factory owners were taking full precautions for themselves, the women were licking the radium-loaded brushes used to paint the watch dials.) All of which by way of agreement with what you note.
