We wanted to make sure everything ran smoothly so there are about a week's worth of posts already up there. Hopefully that will give you a flavor of what to find there. Needless to day, we think it will be varied and satisfy some of the more geeky interests that some of our users have (like me!).

During last year's election I bought a banner ad on a major forum for a month and linked it to the act blue netroots page.  The site is frequented by about 100,000 regular users and they're all pretty liberal so I figured it'd be a good place to advertise.  Is stuff like this ok with you guys?  I fired off an e-mail out that time, but you must have been swamped with work.

People should feel free to advertise their pages far and wide, by email, letter, or online. In some places like in Mississippi, pages are promoted in offline formats for representatives who have never had a website before but want to process donations. Here at DailyKos people are more more savvy of course.

If you are advertising for someone else's page, you may check in with the owner of that page. It's more of a question for them then instead of us. But it sounds like it went ok!

I chatted with someone and they mentioned there may be a need to report it as an inkind contribution to the candidates that the page supported. I have no ideas on how that might need to be done (if it needs to). I'm not an election lawyer but didn't want to pass on advice one way or the other if it's wrong. Just an fyi.
