    The bill doesn't mention corporate money because candidates running through the Fair Elections system don't accept ANY outside money--corporate, private or otherwise. So all this talk about evil corporations is  made irrelevant once you sign up for public funding. That's the beauty of it. And if corporations want to support your opponent, you'll get public funds to offset their donations.

    I don't know how the Durbin bill deals with soft money, but the California bill we have been working on treats soft money as a donation if it appears to support or oppose a candidate.
