my cats were a bit weirded out by rc at first, but now they turn their noses up at everything else.  you might also consider trying to vary their brands.  they make (for example) a great indoor/outdoor label called "adult fit 32".  there's also a regular indoor brand, and even some brands for specific cat breeds.

as to the renal failure, i am pretty sure RC makes a brand for cats with sensitive urinary systems.

RC does make a food for that condition, it's what the vet prescribed. We can't explore other flavors or choices within the brand because of the CRF. I've got reluctant permission to let her have about 3 oz of "fun" food a week. That used to be chunks in gravy.

My big guy just LOVES Royal Canin and inhales it. He was gaining weight on the diet cat food.

      ALSO-- problem here

      (1) Monopolies have no concern with consumers, we have no choice, they don't care

      (2) Bush policy is to cut the number of federal inspectors to the bone, so bush contributors don't have to worry about regulations, no one is enforcing them.

I'd expect it applies everywhere, but when it comes to environmental laws, not being inspected is no excuse for violations, and you can be tagged for violations going back 5 years, with each day being a distinct violation for the purposes of penalty calculations.
