Tim McVeigh "served" as well.  Then he turned into a mass murderer.

What's the point of your comment?

    •  The point is this (0+ / 0-)

People are saying that the guy should sign up.  He already has.  It makes Dailykos look stupid.  That's the point.

As far as the point about McVeigh, don't you think that's a little absurd?  Not all people who served are honorable, however to simply disparage someone's service because he is of an opposite political viewpoint is not necessary, and it's counterproductive.

      •  many of us missed your point I think (0+ / 0-)

It sounded like you wanted the guy to be commended and honored for his "service".

        •  It sure didn't seem that way (1+ / 0-)

But why shouldn't we honor and commend his service?  Because he is of an opposite political persuasion, his service doesn't mean as much?

I am as liberal as they come, but I don't see what his posting on another website, or what his disagreeing with liberals has to do with whether or not his service is honored.

Governments that don't respect the service of the opposition only end up like this one is right now.

I don't find it difficult at all to respect that man for his service, but not respect him for his political positions.
