Do a brief Google search on CitizenRE and you will find a number of people who find their business proposal to anything from unrealistic to a mulit-level marketing scam.

The giveaway for me is they say they will be installing new systems in early 2008: from a plant that is not even sited or under construction yet. I've been involved in industrial construction projects for several years. Here's how I figure a schedule for "the largest PV manufacturing facility in the world" would go; assuming they start next Monday:

    • 6 months for site selection and government/regulatory approvals
    • 12 to 18 months for construction
    • 4 months for equipment fit-up
    • 2-3 months for testing and shake out before the first panel rolls off the line

And that is a sunny take on a fast-track schedule. That puts the first PV panel on your house no earlier than Spring of '09. To say that they will be installing in January-February of 2008 is so implausible it makes you wonder what else they are up to.

Thank you for your comments. I will send your remarks to my CitizenRE representative and perhaps he'll be able to answer your questions.  The reason I'm not particularly worried is that while they've asked me to sign 'paperwork' saying that I'm interested in joining CitizenRE, I have not been asked to put down any money for this.
