  •  I like this debate, it's fun, (6+ / 0-)

but does it really matter whether Bush is as stupid as he seems to be?

Does it matter if moss could give him a run for his money in a heated game of tic-tac-toe?  Does it matter, really, if he watches Deal or No Deal and screams "Vowel"?  If he thinks bendy straws are some sort of puzzle, like Rubick's Cubes?

I would think the point is that his people think it's good that he appear as stupid as he does.

Whether he actually is, is almost beside the point.

Or maybe I'm wrong about that.

      outstanding, simply outstanding.

    •  That's exactly it, though. "Stupid" (2+ / 0-)

      gets him off the hook.

It's like the Libby trial jurors who voted guilty but thought he should be pardoned.  Poor, nice man, he just made a few bad judgement calls which happen to be illegal... AND WHICH RESULTED IN A NEEDLESS WAR WITH HALF A MILLION DEATHS AND A TRILLION DOLLARS ($3300 FOR EVERY MAN, WOMAN, AND CHILD IN THE USA) ADDED TO OUR DEBTS.

So, yes, whether people see Bush as stupid or not does matter.  It's about accountability, the one thing most lacking in our country.

Appreciate the levity, LC, but my sense of humor's shot for the day, unless it's some really dark humor.

Government and laws are the agreement we all make to secure everyone's freedom.
