  •  Well, (0+ / 0-)

One of them has already tried - Jim Cooper got obliterated by Fred Thompson in 1994.

Steven Cohen, who took over Ford's seat, is going to be too liberal.

Lincoln Davis is even more conservative than Ford.  If kos is right (which I don't think he is, but theoretically) that Ford lost because he ran a more centrist/conservative campaign rather than a progressive one, then Davis has even less of a chance.  He is one of the Dems who voted against the House Iraq Bill from the blue dog side.

Gordon and Tanner may have the best shot, but I just don't think they have the name recognition and power, especially running against someone like Alexander.  Maybe if there was an open seat and a weak republican, but not this race.  Tanner, by the way, is not only a blue dog...he founded the Blue Dogs.

    •  Somebody will run... (0+ / 0-)

...and that somebody might be Rosalind Kurita (again).

Alexander has a lot of skeletons in a lot of closets that have not been exploited to their max. The negative campaigning needs to start now, so Alexander's school teacher image will be exposed for what it is; he is an out of touch, career politician who accumulated all his wealth the old fashioned way through political graft.

The problem with America is that it keeps voting for Democrats, but electing Republicans.
