    Gonzales, who may have been viable in the past, would be toast right now.  But if anybody were to retire in May, the Senate would not block Bush's nominees for 18 months.  

    Roberts' comments here sound like a recitation of right-wing talking points, and completely orthogonal to any legal issues.  Why does the CO2 emission level from China have any relevance to whether states have standing or not?

      I started to think -- 4 to 4 all the time.  What would that do?  You are both probably right.  Sometimes I think being an invertebrae is a prerequisite for the Senate.
