    IS the answer.  Sometimes I ask myself if that isn't the biggest brick wall we all bang our head against in this culture...

    what I mean is that I find I come to understand more from posts/approaches like yours where what people do is ask questions.

    This is due, in part, to my training as an academic, training that, unfortunately, the bulk of US culture has come to diminish precisely because it doesn't translate easily into "workable solutions".  Pragmatism is a great political hook, I'm just less convinced of its political and practical implications given the frightening comkpulsions of contemporary US culture.  

    In short, I wish we lived in a culture that valued far more highly the ability to ask the right questions.
