as you can clearly see by my comment, that no one gives a rat's ass. Clearly people do. So yes, I disagree with your facts; I could care less about your opinion.

    •  That is your deity-given right. (0+ / 0-)

Instead of an Attractive Missing White Girl, they have the DownFall of a Media Icon. (Icon is probably too strong a word, as I don't think anyone gives a rat's ass about Imus outside of the media themselves.)

What I said was, nobody gives a rat's ass about Imus. I was talking about Imus as a person/media figure. (As the above quote makes clear.) Not the story of his racist/mysogenistic comments.

Since you could care less about my opinion, then perhaps you should limit yourself to reading comments other than mine.

      Have a nice day.

I took your quote out of context. I apologise. I guess I'm just mad about your opinion because it is reinforcing the overall theme of this diary which is a call to arms to protest the show.

I think the show should be praised. Did you see it?

I didn't see the show. I'm just pissed because the media is obsessed with this story because it's about them. Imus is one of them, and it seems that they think we should pay lots of attention to his fate, whereas I think he should be shunned, shoved off the air and forgotten as quickly as possible-- his name should only mentioned in a whisper, if ever at all.

I'm sick of his defenders such as the odious Pat Buchanan and the others who excuse his premeditated serial insults toward people who don't have his microphone. I also think he is an untalented piss-ant who is completely unimportant in the scheme of things.  Imus is gone, good riddance.   Too bad we can't shame Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh from the realm of public discourse.

Reading the comments about Gwen Ifill makes me think that she probably did a great job of standing up for women and minorities. I will see if there are clips on crooksandliars or some such to view it for myself.

          •  thank you (3+ / 0-)

What I fear is that in our rush to shame Coulter, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc., is that we don't really care about the issues of sexism and racism except as political weapons. That would be a disturbing trend.

I hope the issue continues to be discussed, albeit without the focus on Imus.

I hope that is not the direction we're headed.

              Thanks for the link.
