  •  And just What Party (0+ / 0-)

have Libertarians been voting for and identifying with in "elected" government? yeah the GOP!

Sure there are some who 'waste' their vote and vote for the Libertarian candidate just like there are those here who voted for Nader. But in the end when those candidates do not win who do they identify with? Right - either the GOP or the Democrats.

So you argument makes no sense. Why would people like Markos be talking about attracting Libertarians away from the GOP if they were not identifying with the GOP? Get it?

You see that is what drives me crazy about you anti-Fox guys. You can't see the forest for the trees. You see everything through one filter - Fox...

The same as some religious nut sees things through their one filter - religion. It is the same phenomena.

Again you work against the building of the party by putting Fox above all else - including doing what is needed to build the party by attracting new people to it.

Sadly I don't expect you to understand any of that at all. It is just too logical for someone who sees everything through one filter.

No offense intended - it is just the truth.

    •  In other words (0+ / 0-)

In other words, Libertarians are really Republicans in sheep's clothing.  Not only that, but they are the worst sort of doctrinaire Republican.  If we want Republican votes, why not go after the moderates instead of the hardcore element?

      •  That is exactly who (0+ / 0-)

we want to go after - moderates.

And there are moderates who watch Fox. According to Pew 33% of moderates watch Fox.

Now that is not to say that we wouldn't welcome other Republicans or Libertarians who were not self-described moderates. Many out there are changing their minds about who they are and are beginning to see that Democrats stand for individual achievement over corporate achievement among other things. We need to talk to them and let them know all that we stand for.

If they are watching Fox then that is where we should be talking to them.

        •  Traingulation...moving right to pick up moderates (0+ / 0-)

...been there done that. Failed everytime since 1994. You should be thankful the GOP imploded in crime and corruption in 2006 otherwise they still would be in control of the congress.

It's time to take a stand for the base instead of Clinton-like triangulation that keept the Dems from being effective.

    •  How is this not a complete contradiction? (0+ / 0-)

If the Libertarians are going to fall for us if we go on Fox and aren't Foxtards then 0=1?

I won't troll rate you, but thanks for the ad hominem.  Let's keep the anger on message, not messenger.

        no offense intended.

And this is not about anger - it is about winning.

      •  You really shouldn't accuse others of ad hominem (0+ / 0-)

When you refer to libertarians as crazy, simply because you don't agree with them.

        •  however (0+ / 0-)

I was using Libertarian in a generic term, not pointing it at particular people in debate.  I am very defamatory towards generalities, though as it is not towards particular hominae, it is not ad hominem.

Compare this to anything I have posted today and tell me that I am at all in league with what I have quoted.  It's just disrespectful to point and shoot at people who are trying to have a legitamate, issues-motivated debate.  I don't see where any of my actions would lend one to think that I don't take criticism... I just always make sure to keep the conversation moving.
