Libertarians get far too much credit for being "independent thinkers" just because they've come to weird conclusions.  Mostly, from my experience, they're just lazy.  They make lazy arguments and rarely back them up.  They can't understand the basic concept of a government which needs revenue and exists to perserve (their own) minority rights.  They are the 'pie-in-the-sky' idealist modern equivalent of the hippies from the 60's.  Their arguments sound good if you don't think too much about them.  But in the meantime, they tend to find home with Republicans more than Dems, and many of them find Fox News more useful than other media outlets due to the idea that its more of a private business venture than a government-regulated media outlet.  I shit you not, I've heard people say this!
