  •  Let me start by... (7+ / 0-)

saying that I have no idea what it must be like to have a child over there... I can only imagine. That being said I kind of know what you are saying regarding hearing from a loved one in "the pit". I have a very good friend stationed there, and I worry about him every day. The other day, I sent him an email on his Yahoo! account just asking him to check in (which he replied: They haven't gotten me yet.). I feel guilty asking him to contact me, because I know he is busy, and has enough shit to deal with without a friend back home checking up on him. The thought that went through my mind was "how am I going to know if he is KIA?" Not being a family member I am afraid I may never hear that terrible news if it were to come (God Forbid).
This whole thing sucks. I feel very deeply for the families living with this torment every day.

Thank you for posting... and God Bless your son.

Let me echo: HOME NOW...NOT LATER
