They consider themselves a branch of the Marines, they deploy with the Marines and are used with the Marines and they die with the Marines.

saying that they are Marines.  Wow.  Never heard of such a thing.  Then again I think I've only met one or two.

an EOD guy through work I think she would identify him and with him as a Marine.  They act like Marines, they have that same style of conduct.  They have to work side by side all the time.

you know EOD guys who identify as Marines I believe you.  It just isn't my experience.  Hell if I recall I knew 2 on board my ship and they wouldn't even identify as SEALS. I roomed with a SEAL then and there was always that respectful razzing kind of talk.  In the Navy we love our inter-service rivalries.  EOD would garner as much respect as a SEAL and any other Special Forces folks.

being a Marine would call him in his death a Marine also.  He didn't write that he was a Marine, but she did.  You know how Marines are about the highest honor being a Marine.  Hell, maybe it is the highest honor on certain days but I'm happy as hell that I didn't marry one.  I like to sleep when it's time to sleep.

I was worried about my son (12) and his fascination for all things military until one day in response to someone's question about whether he would consider going to one of the Academies and his response was  "Are you kidding?  To risk getting killed for someone like Bush?"

He knows the honor of serving and admires my service but Bush has opened his eyes to how that honor can be used and abused by those in power.
