    under the circumstances. Had it been my husband--and had he not retired, it could have been-- I'd probably have taken up camping outside the White House and screaming till I lost my voice at the Pres.

    And as to the funeral--had the military ATTEMPTED to make a spectacle of it, they'd have had me in screaming banshee form launching myself a them and i think I would have set fire tot hat flag had anyone tried to hand it to me. I know, they won't FORCE a military funeral on you--but they can apply pressure.

    My husband retired and turned down a promotion in 2003 because he didn't want to fight in a war based on lies.  He was lucky to have reached his high year point.  But once you've enlisted--like a lot of patriotic people did after 9/111 and BEFORE we invaded Iraq--you're stuck till your enlistment ends--and even longer if they choose to use stop-loss.

    The last time we mixed religion and politics people got burned at the stake.
