    The problem with the whole concept of carbon emissions is that you are charged as he emitter even if you are selling the product you made elsewhere.

    The result is that the US is vastly undercharged as a polluter.

    • Canada is charged with oil sands emissions, but much of the oil is only produced so that it can be shipped to the US.
    • Most of China's manufacturing is done to supply the rest of the world with goods. If these goods were not purchased, China would not emit as much.

    So here is to charging each country on the emissions related to what it consumes. If Country A imports goods, the "emission component" should be added to their account. Its only fair.

    Just because you can doesn't mean you should!
