  •  This all goes back to the absurd theory (3+ / 0-)

that we "lost" Vietnam because our leaders lacked the political will to win.  While everyone else clearly saw Vietnam as an unwinnable civil war, that we were supporting an increasingly corrupt and inept regime, and that the quagmire could only have ended as it did regardless of whow many bodies we poured in, neo-cons and other right-wing assholes like Bush fell back on the assumption that "they" lost the war - "they" being Democrats, moderate Republicans like Nixon (!) and other traitors.

    Bush still believes this.

As a result, he'll never withdraw troops, he'll never admit defeat or even error beyond the passive-conservative "mistakes were made", and he and his ilk will forever blame Democrats, moderate Republicans like Bush I and other traitors for their own failures.

All we can do is remember (and document) that these neo-con-artists were and remain wrong at every turn, have never been right about anything, and have brought nothing but war, destruction and death to America.

Impeach the cheerleader; save the world.
