  •  absorbing conquered peoples (0+ / 0-)

Yes, they have Sovereign Nation Status, which means they are treated as if they are a sovereign nation even though they are not.

Other way round, I'd say: They are (incorrectly) called sovereign, but not treated as such.

What does this have to do with anything on this thread?

    About absorbing the conquered.

Peurto Rico should either be made a state with all the status and rights of a state, or be left as an independant country.  Let the Peurto Ricans vote and decide.

I'd fully agree to that. (Altough I really should not voice an opinion about that topic since I'm not American, therefore not involved.) But then, how about the same for the native tribes?

And because I disagee with you, you want to paint me as a Republican?

Nope, Republican just has a better allitteration to Puerto Rico.

The US had no business going into Iraq.  I don't believe we should be involved in their politics at all.

Be that as it may, if you suggest conquered people should be fully absorbed, should Mr al-Maliki not be allowed to make a bid for the oval office like any other American?

how do you get the quote to be in those litte gray boxes?

Freedom is not just a word. 'Freedom' is a noun.
