    You have to be kidding with this argument.

    Really, you can do better.

    The US exports $1.5 trillion in goods and services, more than the GDP of all but a handful of countries. One of the areas where we are without peer is military hardware. Who else produces the kind of high tech military equipment that even comes close to what the US produces.

    Here is another thing. Trade and competition makes countries and businesses more competitive, not less. If anything, the national security argument cuts the other way.
