    I explain this every time and you still don't seem to understand it. Every ad on ACs pages is placed by intermarkets.

    What intermarkets does, from their website:

    http://www.intermarkets.net/...

    What exactly is an advertising sales management services firm?
    Intermarkets, Inc. is a unique service provider for publishers. We manage all aspects of publishers' advertising sales activities, including:

       * Selling advertising inventory
       * Trafficking advertising
       * Maximizing results for publishers and advertisers
       * Reporting to publishers and advertisers

    That makes Intermarkets different from other "rep" firms?

    Yes, because Intermarkets acts as the manager of the advertising sales activities for publishers, as opposed to being a media buyer for advertisers or advertising agencies. The differences may seem minor, but for publishers, the differences are substantial.

    What are the differences?

    First, Intermarkets is focused on maximizing results for the publishers with whom we work. This means that our primary focus is on filling all the available advertising space for a publisher. It also means that we take care of doing all the "leg work" and administrative tasks that are required to maximize results for publishers.

    In contrast, many "rep" firms act as media buyers; their focus is on working with specific advertisers and managing their advertisers' budgets to maximize results for the advertisers. This focus on the advertisers' needs means that often, the most effective placements for the media buys are not on those sites which are represented by the "rep" firms.

    We believe that it is not possible to focus on both maximizing results for advertisers and for publishers at the same time by a single entity. They are two different, but not necessarily conflicting, objectives, best negotiated by two different parties. There are many fine "rep" firms in the marketplace, however, we believe that the interests of publishers are best served by an advertising sales management services firm whose primary responsibility is for maximizing results for publishers.

    Here is a pricelist for www.annecoulter.com with graphics showing ad placement.

    Intermarkets takes a 50% cut of all advertising revenues for the sites they manage.  Using something like firebug or the firefox webdeveloper extention to disect her page, you can see that many ads are in iframes from third party networks, however. Here is what most likely happens:  Advertiser X  purchases advertising from network Y (tribalfusion, adbrite).  Network Y places ads with Intermakets/Mecures who conduct themselves in the way implied by the above quote, "maximizing value for the publisher."  They then, place the ads on AC's site.  They are why more ads will always take the place of the ones that are pulled.

    If you think ad volume there is down, it may just be because some of the ad scripts can be blocked to clients coming to AC's site from dailykos btw.  That's what I'd do if I was her webmaster.  (If i was dailykos webmaster I'd redirect people coming here from LGF to tubgirl)  Try clearing out all your cookies, closing your browser, and going to www.anncoulter.com without coming here first and see if there is any difference.

    Again, no ads are on her site that are not touched by intermarkets first.  Please mention this and the above quote when contacting advertisers so they can sick their lawyers on these goons.

    •  Goons? The silly factor has taken over... (0+ / 0-)

      How is Intermarkets or mercuras.com or whoever, 'goons'? At least they're not hiding behind silly screen names, disguising their location and staff (can't say the same about Kos or you) or spouting off about things they don't know anything about. Plus they've been in biz for 10 years. Hardly a fly by night outfit. And if you do a Google search on them, you find no lawsuits ever. Can't say the same about Kos.

      Just because you don't like Coulter, chill on the hate. It'll kill you.

      What did the "goons" at Intermarkets say to you when you contacted them? Did evil little people swoop down on you with helicopters, stealing your puppies and kittens? Maybe they ate your children, too, right?

      BWA HA HA!
