BUT, I think I might be willing to accept some honest mea culpas, which almost all the Democrats [sans Lieberman] have done

Apart from the presidential candidates (well HRC is a special wobbler on this one) i dont know of other Dems who have said they are sorry.
    -Landrieu?
    -Feinstein?
-Others who dont come to mind right away?

    •  I think this is as close as Feinstein has come... (5+ / 0-)

Feinstein, who is running for re-election in the Nov. 7 election, said that in hindsight, her October 2002 vote to give Bush the green light to wage war against Iraq was "absolutely'' a mistake, one she said was based on faulty intelligence delivered by then-Secretary of State Colin Powell and other White House officials.

"I made the mistake of believing the intelligence, of listening to the president, the vice president and the administration,'' she said. She described the administration's arguments for going to war as "bogus.''

Conflicts of interest, going along to get along...my, my.  I honestly ask myself every election, should I really vote for Feinstein?  I do it for the Dems as a block, but really, jeebus gawd.

We don't have time for short-term thinking.

But I'll vote for her if she's the candidate in the general.  Period.

But I'm on record--here and with her office--as willing to support a primary challenger.  With time AND money.

The flag burning amendment vote was the final straw for me.  Absolutely terminal.
