  •  Palestinian Arabs fought too (2+ / 0-)

it wasn't just Arab armies from Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt. Palestinians fought too. They used their villages to attack the Jews, and the Jewish communities. They were involved. Their leaders advocated attacking the Jews.

So any attempt to claim otherwise is just dishonest. The facts are established.

I said crimes were committed against Palestinians.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Trail of Tears refers to Cherokee's expulsions (relocation). I could use it to describe similar acts against others, but this is what Cherokee use to describe what happened to them.

Palestinian Arabs describe what happened to them as Nakba. Do Jews describe what happened to them by Palestinian as Nakba?

Indeed, most of your comments implied very strongly that the Palestinians were no more than bystanders, that their role was entirely passive. And that just isn't the truth.

Now, you will probably object to my using a generalization like "Palestinians," when there were Palestinians that fought, and many other Palestinians that were just civilians, caught in the crossfire. That point is well taken. But at the same time, not all the Jewish residents fought, either. Many of them were just farmers, innocent people caught in the crossfire.

But this notion that one side was belligerent and aggressive, and the other was passive and peaceful is just plain bullshit.

who insists on changing the meaning of Nakba as well as minimize crimes committed against Arabs, my arguments will become narrowed to a specific point. I will not go left or right. I won't allow distractions and misdirections. I'm not going to entertain even the possibility that a victim regardless of ethnicity is responsible for the crime committed against him or her, especially when such crimes are expulsions and massacres. If we can't even agree on this much, there is no hope. I wouldn't dare attempt to fault, in part or percentage, Jews who were expelled and massacred by Palestinian militants. It would be absolutely callous, devaluing the worth and life of a Jew as compared to others. That's what some people have and are doing wrt Arabs. And it is as unconscionable as it would be if we were discussing Jews or any other ethnicity or race.

Indeed, most of your comments implied very strongly that the Palestinians were no more than bystanders

Do you make a point to seperate the 'fighting Jews' from 'non-fighting Jews' when describing expulsions and massacres of Jews? Or do you say 'Jews were expelled', 'Jews were massacred'?
