    I think the Interceptor runs around $1,000 give or take for a full ESAPI setup, using the new Tactical Vest system; the equivalent Dragon Skin would run around $3,000 or $3,500. Of course, the economies of scale would kick in as soon as mass production started on Dragon Skin, thus bringing the cost down somewhat.

    But even from a strictly hard-economics standpoint, if you factor in reduced long-term costs for soldiers not wounded by small-arms fire who otherwise would be, that difference would be somewhat offset as well (just a SWAG, though). Also, outfitting every single troop in theater, even at today's prices, would cost less than half a billion dollars - or about two days' cost of the war.
