I saw it again a few months back.  The parts on Bush Administration misconduct before, during, and after 9/11 were absolutely devastating.  One marvels that impeachment was not the first order of business in January based on that material alone.

But while the movie made a ton of money, and left a cultural wake, it didn't make so much as a footprint on the political scene.

Because the devastating material that only Moore had the guts to assemble at the time was largely undermined by the other parts of the movie: the mockery of generalissimo Bush's pathetic personal life tainted the brilliant, unique material with the whiff of personal attack, and the endless footage of that poor mother grieving over her son just seemed exploitative.

He needed a better editor.  Hopefully he had one for SiCKO -- because this movie will be a major plank in framing the debate, and the stakes of starting to fix our healthcare system in 2009 are far higher now than in the era of Hillary's train wreck.

    Anybody seen my owl?
