this article about "Plague" and tell me how anyone could be prepared when the reporting agency won't even name the disease it is describing. Furthermore, how do we prepare when we are kept in the dark?

Thank you for your excellent diary and effort.

    •  Plague is the common name for an infection (0+ / 0-)

caused by a specific bacteria called Yersinia pestis. There is always some around in rodents in the SW US. The last sentence of the story specifies that bubonic plague was the Black Death of the Middle Ages. That is transmitted by fleas. The person to person transmission (as expected in Biowarfare scenarios) is pneumonic plague.

        Thank you very much.

My point was that the linked article reporter FAILED to name the disease the animal died of calling it "plague".
