any of the candidates has -- as long as they don't impose it on others and that is the big difference between what we've been seeing over the past 10-12 years with the rise of the Religious Right and most Democrats.

This forum is part of Wallis's effort to take back the language of religious faith from those who have been abusing it.  The right wingers not only spout their religion but insist they are supremely correct and everyone one else is wrong -- they want to impose a faith-based politics on everyone and have little/no tolerance for people of other faiths or no faith.

Having the Democratic candidates talk about their religious beliefs is fine, especially is it provides any insight into why they do what they do.

Edwards is a person of faith, he doesn't hide it AND he doesn't smack you over the head with it.  He has long focused on the issue of poverty, and can discuss it at length without once referencing his personal faith.  The fact that his personal beliefs reinforce his efforts in this area are good; the fact that he doesn't require others to hold the same beliefs in order to do something about poverty is good.
