  •  Here is what he answered (0+ / 0-)

on the HRC questionaire - he opposes same sex marriage.

Hard to be any more clear.

    •  All of the others besides one do as well. (0+ / 0-)

And Edwards and all of the others all support civil unions, laws against job discrimination, laws requiring death benefits, laws against hate crimes, federal benefits for same-sex couples, and extending the Family and Medical Leave Act to include gay couples.

      •  What does the fact that the others (0+ / 0-)

also support discrimination have to do with anything ?

I know they all suck - that doesn't mean that Edwards doesn't suck too.

        •  The problem is not just with Edwards. (0+ / 0-)

The problem is that most of us here support gay marriage, but the problem is that most of the leaders are not convinced yet. So, how do we go about doing that?

          •  I know that the problem is not 'just' with Edward (0+ / 0-)

I was just pointing out that he was blathering fundie talking points again, which is not helpful.

It seems to me that the way to "convinve" them is by not applauding when they repeat the right wing talking points, but by pointing out that on this subject they are full of shit.

Even though you say that "most of us here support gay marriage", it seems that most of us here, especially the straight ones, are very comfortable covering up for favored candidates when they do spout off like Edwards and never call them on it.

As long as they can get away with it, why should they be "convinced" of anything ?

Personally I no longer know what else to do other than to support Kucinich, at least for now.

            •  That's your choice, then. (0+ / 0-)

Best of luck to your candidate.

              •  I'm not happy about it (0+ / 0-)

nor am I happy about the fact that so many straight liberals who claim to "support gay marriage" don't really when it comes to chosing candidates.

Gays are expendable among liberals - a "wedge issue" they prefer not to deal with.
