    FDR wouldn't have enacted all his New Deal reforms without pressure from the Progressive Party

    FDR was bringing to Washington what had worked in NY, and he got that from Gov. Al Smith (1919-21, 1923-29) who brought it from his own experience growing up poor on the lower east side.  Smith ran on virtually the same platform (as FDR in '32) in 1928 against Herbert Hoover, and lost in a (anti-catholic) landslide.  

    Elections don't cause change; they reflect change

    Since Nader only got 2.3% last time, doesn't that reflect no appetite for that type of change?

    activists...not ...major parties who have forced real change

    Proves my point -which is politicians move when there is consensus for change.  Nader has built no such consensus, and is in fact tossing his would-be allies overboard in order to grandstand.  

    That is IMHO.  

    Results matter! Jesus would have been a lot less popular if he had drowned trying to walk across that lake...
