have not a clue. I messed up. I got in a car and drove when I should not have. I generally only make one mistake, so afterwards I didn't do it again. Paris did. As a guy that has one ticket since 1987 the state is pretty darn serious about getting behind the wheel with a few drinks. She ought to be in jail. She ought to stay. Don't think for one second you nor I would be in jail.

We would serve, and so should she. It's the maliciousness in which some have delighted in her ordeal, specifically the medical condition and suicide watch, that I find unsettling.

I think I pooched it by putting In Defense of Paris Hilton in the title and have only myself to blame. It was more A Call for Compassion if anything. And maybe perspective.

This is the only one I have seen on compassion and I needed it.  I tried talking about it with my husband and got stiffed.  So thanks!!

It was a conversation with my wife, a very loving, intelligent person, who also admitted to not having an ounce of sympathy for her and revealed that she was even enojoying this, that set me to writing this.

It's possible to not feel sorry for Paris but to still not like the jokes and vitriol aimed at her, and to believe that that does us harm in the end.

Like I've said repeatedly, it's not about her, it's about us.

But it's time to move on, thanks for listening and understanding.
