    It's from the heart.  Please post often!

    I'm not sure that picking the brain of someone with as much experience and as long a view as Colin Powell has would necessarily constitute "taking advice"  but it certainly indicates the kind of open-minded intelligence gathering that I appreciate.  

    And surely every candidate is talking to people with various perspectives.  It is the greatest failing of the present administration that dissenting voices are silenced and other perspectives ignored.  

    I fault General Powell for going to the United Nations to promote the invasion of Iraq.  I also fault John Edwards for going on CNN and not only promoting the invasion, but encouraging Americans to support invading Iraq without the United Nations, especially when he hadn't even read the full intel report that was available to him.  Edwards co-sponsored the resolution and did promo.  Powell did promo, in spite of his opposition.  Both carried water for their respective bosses, and both are unworthy of further public service.
