    Unless Mexico agrees to certain conditions, including direct US oversight of the funds, similar to the conditions that countries like Spain agreed to, I disagree with you.

    Otherwise, you'd have no guarantee that the politicians would siphon the funds directly to overseas accounts.

    The primary problem with Mexico is the ruling party (PRI/PAN) couldn't care less about the country.

    Currently, a Senator (120 of them) or a Representative (500 of them) make more than their US counterparts.  The Supreme Court Justice makes over US$ 650K a year, far more than our Supreme Court Justice.

    You'd think that in a country with such a gap between what the ruling class and the rank and file make, there would be an effort to address the inequality.

    But no.  

    Instead, Calderon and the PAN/PRI just fast-tracked a pension bill that slashed the minimum pension by 50% for low-level government workers.
