    Then I guess I don't understand why you need other posters to convince you their candidate is worthy of support if you've researched their positions for yourself.

    Again, I'm not trying to be rude. What do you expect to see in a comment to your diary that your research missed?

      I'm saying I don't understand the hero-worship of candidates who aren't leading on every issue, who aren't presenting anything resembling comprehensive planning on the key issues, who are trying to get by rather than lead.

      If there's something I missed, one of the partisans ought to be able to direct me to it; if that's the case, my decision ought to be a little easier. If I'm not missing anything, then we have candidates resting on their laurels -- and that's just not good enough.

      We claim to be a reality based community here, where we demand proof of just about any claim anyone makes. I want to see some proof -- at least something substantive -- for why some of these candidates have people fawning all over them. I fear we've set the bar way too low after BushCo, and I'm hoping we can raise it before we lock in on someone whose platform defines mediocrity.
