  •  I have an idea - Get involved (7+ / 0-)

Get involved with your local Voter REgistration Board, get involved as a poll watcher, get involved as a Precinct Captain for your local Dem Committee (if you are a dem).

Know your neighbors, know who and why they would target voters, video the vote, etc. etc.  Do not just bitch - get involved to stop this stuff on the streets.

Unleash the potential to make a difference

    •  Involvement stopped voter suppression (4+ / 0-)

      In the 1960s.
They have refined their tactics, but thos who want to restrict voting to a certain demographic have kept the same themes.

In 1964, Less than 1 percent of voting-age blacks in Mississippi were registered to vote.  That changed with the civil rights movement and 1965 Voting Rights act.

If anyone wants to get educated/motivated about the history of Voter Suppression, a comprehensive survey (and enthralling read) by Chandler Davidson is here.
