mine said the distributor decided last minute to cut it to 200 theatres...it wouldn't surprise me given the theaters I would have expected it would be at it wasn't.

Beware the everyday brutality of the averted gaze.

the end of w/e report.  The ShowBIZ data report was based on 441 theaters, but that's not always an infallible source.

    •  Not sure this is accurate. (0+ / 0-)

All box office counts online - ShowBIZ data (an industry resource), Variety, HR, and Box Office Mojo all still report 441 theaters.

After the premiere in NY last week, the Weinsteins purportedly were talking theaters in the 400's (although they are not the distributor; Lionsgate is.)

So hold off saying it got pulled to 200 until Monday when all the tallies are in.

middle of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas ~ the conservative suburbs and saw the film Friday night. The theater was 1/4 full for the 6:10 showing, but for the 8:40 showing people were standing in line.

Word of mouth will spread for this film. I think it's going to be hard to control. It's powerful. And it affects every one of us.
