    even if we ratified it now, everything else would be grandfathered in. Otherwise, as of 1865, half the union would have been jailed for slavery.

    I think Dhonig got tangled up with some of those nutcases who say the federal income tax amendment was never ratified, and the 13th amendment was but squashed.

    I mean, that is abusrd, and being from Texas, I know some very absurd men with very deep pockets.
