    under Bush's predecessors. I was there for a lot of it.  People are under a severe misapprehension about Bush.  The religious right worked for their share of the pie. Bush did not just give it to them. Deals were made. Did you know that Karl Rove is an atheist? He is.

      ...but it doesn't surprise me. His motivations are power and greed...

        and he has been Bush's chief political operative for his entire political career. So when people assume Bush's religious belief's are behind his actions, its important to step back a minute and say -- exactly what beliefs are we talking about here?

        I have seen people claim that Bush is a Tim LaHaye style premillentialist about to blow up the world. I have also heard him prominently described as postmillenial reconstrucionist -- or close to it. It can't be both, and the evidence is sketchy for either position.  I suspect that it is neither. But I can't prove it.

          IMO, it has NO meaning for him...

          Religion is nothing but a tool...a means to an end for Bush, Cheney, Rove and the rest of this failed Administration.
