    it's just "faith". Many are very religious (not that there's anything necessarily wrong with that) and are used to putting faith into - and believing in - things they cannot see (like results!).

    The reason I think it's faith is that I've met some otherwise very intelligent republicans. Yeah, oxymoron... but seriously, I have met a few who weren't drooling in a corner while watching "Baby Huey" cartoons.

    You can have an intelligent conversation with them about many subjects. But broach some things and they just go off into La-La Land and I honestly believe that some reconcile the ideology with simple faith.

    This same faith also allows them the "freedom" to put their party before their country because they believe that a republican is always right; therefore what republicans do for Amurrica is always right... no matter what.

    It's pretty scary, actually, because evidently some can be talked into damn near anything.

      The 26% is probabaly close to the number of Americans who desire an Authoritarian as president. Such media personalities as Chris Matthews and David Brooks have shown a weakness for an American fascist.
