but I'm not about to get into a "you-know-what" match with you.

However, I find your defense a bit lame.  I'm talking about Republicans.  Your counter is typical Republican, "so what cause you guys are just as bad, if not worse".  I'd like to have you give me examples of Republicans who listen, consider and just might be budged, if the argument merits, from their original stand.

In other words, you've given me this one:

"David Vitter has illegal relations with prostitutes."

"Oh, yeah, well, what about Bill Clinton."

Please tell me how that helps either one of us move forward.

howling hypocrisy of the self-proclaimed guardians of FAMILY VALUES. The clean-cut Vitter is apparently one sick fuck who should never show his face in public again and should be publicly excoriated by every media outlet in the country, rather than having that asshole Tucker Carlson tell us that prosties and diapers are none of our business, whereas the whereabouts and doings of Clinton's dick are of vital national interest even today.

I am so FUCKING tired of Republicans smirkingly saying "Bill Clinton" as if that name alone excuses every last bit of hypocrisy and worse from Chimpy on down. If I had my druthers, the next person who sneers about the blue dress would be spitting out his teeth a second later. SO tell me please, nola, how exactly do I counter the smirks and curled lips and all the rest?

What I've never understood is why you can't do the same with your rogues, insisting that they face the very same music.

That is why Clinton's antics continue to be relevant.

anyone. Explain to me how his "antics" are still "relevant" when the man with the tiniest shlong on earth, George W. Bush, has caused the deaths of so many.

          •  Where IS that bill of inquiry??? (0+ / 0-)

The American people gave Democrats the majority to do something -- and "doing something" means impeachment. If you can get George Bush to the dock in the Hague, I'll be delighted to spring for the airfare.

What I want out of you Dems is the same thing I demand of fellow Republicans: one consistent standard, to be applied in all cases of official misconduct.  When Bob Beauprez took $21,000 from a Russian mobster to take a junket to Israel, I withdrew my support. Why can't you Dems be as hard on your criminals as I am on ours?

            •  No idea. Since nobody's asked me, (0+ / 0-)

nobody knows my opinion on letting people slide for "youthful indiscretions" committed in one's 40s, visiting prosties and wearing diapers, etc.

Champurrado that, until well after the witchhunt was in full gear, Clinton had not broken the law.  The law-breaking (perjury), was the result of an investigation into an entirely legal (if embarrassing) action.

As for William Jefferson, the LA representative who was nailed for accepting bribes, the party en masse dropped his criminal ass as like a hot potato.  I don't think you can find any Dem anywhere attempting to defend or justify his actions.

Now, Vitter on the other hand, engaged in ILLEGAL (not to mention highly hypocritical) activities (soliciting prostitution), and I don't hear any calls for HIS resignation from amongst the right.

Or take Libby, CONVICTED of multiple counts of perjury, obstruction of justice etc. during the investigation into a TREASONOUS crime (outing an undercover CIA agent), and not only is the right not calling for his head, he's the goddamn hero!  And had his well-deserved sentence commuted to boot! And that was fucking CHEERED by the right.

Ultimately, this all goes back to the diarists primary point...if you want to see changes in the way Dems do things, you need to clean house first because it seems obvious to us that while Dems aren't mistake/ hypocrisy/ corruption free, we pale in comparison to the sheer arrogant blatantness of Republican hypocrisy/ corruption/ illegality.

/International treaties? We don't abide by no stinkin' international treaties./
