  •  Remembering 2000 (8+ / 0-)

I live in Texas.  I remember how the far right was having robust meetings in their churches to rally support for Bush and the Republicans.  I remember it because I was always getting invites from friends to participate.

The Democrats didn't have such forums, and I didn't see much life online from the blue side of the spectrum.  I regarded the efforts of our Democratic club as anemic in promoting the national ticket.  In fact, I came to suspect that many of the members were really supporting Bush because they were employees of government contractors like Bell-Textron, Lockheed-Martin, Siemens, etc.

The netroots is apparently the only forum or venue that projects my values in any recognizable form.

My mother, now deceased, once told me that we all vote with our dollars.  That's where our power really is.  We've learned that voting with our feet alone is pretty meaningless when elections can be hijacked.  So I guess our efforts must always stand on two legs.  We must vote with our dollars and our feet.

Whatever scant resources I do have will be dedicated to such endeavors as ActBlue.  Maybe my little part combined with millions of others' will add up to something significant.

    Worth a try!
