Actually, I just cosponsored Jim Webb's legislation setting up a Truman Committee-style bipartisan committee to investigate contracting in Iraq. The level of corruption and mismanagement is almost hard to fathom. It's extremely important that we get some real accounting of some of these abuses. Not only are billions of dollars disappearing, but lives are being lost on this. I'll be supporting these efforts all the way.

Last year I worked with Robert Greenwald and his team on the film Iraq for Sale, which frankly speaks to these issues far more eloquently than any politician can -- it comes right from the troops themselves who've had to live with the consequences.

As for shifting attention to protecting our own country, really the first step is getting the policy right in Iraq. So keep organizing, keep active, keep making your voice heard. I know it's frustrating some times (it's frustrating for me some times), but we're making progress. We really are. Think about where we were a year ago when Russ Feingold and I got only 13 votes to set a deadline for redeployment -- and how far we've come. Stick with it.

it's an honor to have you representing our people and defending our Constitution.

I didn't realize you have co-sponsored Webb's proposal. It sounds like an excellent step in the right direction.

I agree with you that we have to get the policy right in Iraq - and part of that policy is redeploying our troops. Then, we can free up some of the billions spent every month to put toward domestic programs, including energy, food supply, and ports. And of course, affordable, available healthcare for all.

Again, many thanks for continuing to listen to the people, and motivating us to make our voices heard. It's nice to know that we're talking to people who are actually listening.

I remember a time when the American President was the leader of the free world. ****** Repeat after me: "Neoconservatism has failed America."
