  •  Yes! Call him on it! (4+ / 0-)

Everytime O'Lielly makes one of these scurrilous, lying attacks, the person he is opposite should say:

Yes! People should all go and see for themselves what evil arguments are put on that site!! It's all there for all the world to see!

We should all call his radio show and suggest it, as well. Just keep on repeating:

You have to check out what these crazy people at are saying! Seriously, you have to go read this stuff! NOW!

Why bother to argue with him? He'll just turn off his mike. But if even 1/4 of his listeners actually come to this site and see our discourse, then he will have lost that one-quarter.

Visit and see what is written and what is being discussed. Then visit and and see what passes for an open forum on the right. Then decide which direction you think America should head.

      •  Also point out a very important fact - (0+ / 0-)

        Membership in DailyKos is

Unlike O'Reilly and Limbaugh, kos doesn't make you pay extra to post, requiring you to get a "premium" membership.

        Cost is no barrier here.

I did a little hate site cruising one day. By far the most offensive comment I found was at, exceeding even LGF haters. I thought I clipped it but cannot find it. Basically it slammed either Iraqis or Muslims or both, saying "they" had no music, no art, no literature, no culture of any kind. Other than being the cradle of civilization, that is. Typical winger dehumanizing to pave the way for Bush's Crusade conscience-free. Soooo predictable.

So is this what they're teaching in Sunday School these days? So widespread, must be. Sad. When my mom made me go to Sunday School, we were taught that if you couldn't say some nice about someone, don't say anything at all. How things have changed in our America since Reagan's republican ascendancy.

"Question authority and the authorities will question you." Now more than ever!
Hey, Loyal Bushies - elections have consequences. Mostly for you.

is to ignore him. The man is sick with delusions of grandeur. He wants to be adored by the Backwash-- and hated by everyone else-- because it makes him feel important.

Don't appear on his show. Don't call in. Don't listen to his show. Ignore him. Treat him like the squawing little pygmy he is. He'll hate that. He went after DKOS not just because of its politics but because of the size of its audience. It was taking the spotlight away from him. He doesn't want to score political points against it; he wants to shut it down.

Ignore him and he'll wither and crumble like a vampire denied his blood.

Walter Winchell, Father Coughlin, Gerald L K Smith, Billy James Hargis, Mort Downey all once rode high and mighty, bullying the nation. Then they wore out their welcome; people suddenly stopped listening. They died in obscurity. Barely anyone showed up at Winchell's funeral, and he'd once been as looming a presence as FDR himself.

Limbaugh an Coulter are the same. The thing they fear most is being returned to obscurity.

      •  Hello? (0+ / 0-)

We need to pay attention to O'Liely and repudiate what he says. 1200 wingnuts wrote to JetBlue to pressure JetBlue into pulling its sponsorship of YearlyKos.

There are people who pay attention to him and if we don't, we will be blindsided by him.

you'll hear about it. Someone else can carry the cross by monitoring him and reporting here, just as Southern Poverty Law Center keeps us posted about Neo-Nazi hate propaganda on the web. You don't have to watch his show and make yourself nauseous and enraged in the process. If I were a Jew in Berlin in 1933 I'd want to know what Hitler was planning, but I wouldn't want to hear him screeching on the radio, much less would I write him back to complain.

O'Reilly wants to make you sick to your stomach. it gives him joy. He loves dropping a turd in the punchbowl. So stay away from the punch.

A large part of his audience consists of people who don't share his views but watch simply because he's grotesque and gets them riled. If they stopped watching his falling ratings would eventually do him in.

He won this last round not just because he got 1200 of his wingnuts to write JetBlue, but because he kept three times that number of Kossaks busy posting about him here and sending entreaties to JetBlue. That JetBlue caved and pulled its sponsorship is less important; they just showed their true stripes.

O'Reilly can be effectively handled by just a few well placed people. Al Franken, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert know what makes him tick and how to turn his inanities against him, and we know they've really hurt him. It's OK to bring the threatening comments on his website to the FBI's attention, too. But DKOS should not be rededicated to responding to him. It's exactly what he wants.
